The Role of Administrative Law in Utility Regulation is a seminar co-hosted by the Public Utilities Commission in The Bahamas and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) with sponsorship from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The objective of the seminar is to heighten the awareness of issues and decisions that have been delivered in the various Caribbean jurisdictions relating to utility regulation.

This presents an opportunity for regulators with legal or non-legal background to learn more about the role of administrative law in regulation. Actually, it will be helpful to any official in a supervisory position in the public service or is charged with developing policies, or instructions for legislation.

The objective of the seminar is to heighten the awareness of issues and decisions that have been delivered in the various Caribbean jurisdictions relating to regulation. To achieve this objective, topics addressing principles of administrative law and its application to utility matters have been selected for the exchange of information. Regulatory Commissioners from the United States will also share their experiences.
